Alberto Nessi (1940) lives in Bruzella in Canton Ticino. He studied at the Magistrale in Locarno and at the University of Fribourg, and became a teacher. He writes poetry and prose and has been translated into several languages. In 2016 he was awarded the Swiss Grand Prize for Literature. His most recent works include the collection of short stories Miló (Casagrande, Bellinzona 2014), the volume of poetry Un Sabato senza dolore (A Saturday Without Pain—Interlinea, Novara, 2016) and Svizzera italiana – Quindici passeggiate letterarie (Italian Switzerland – Fifteen Literary Walks, Unicopli, Milano 2017).
