Viola Rohner (1962) studied German literature, history and psychology in Zurich and Berlin. She works as a secondary school teacher (Gymnasium) and as director of the “Literary Writing” course of studies at the Volkshochschule in Zurich. Rohner writes prose and plays for adults and children. She has been awarded many grants and prizes for her work. Her most recently published work is Wie Grossvater schwimmen lernte (How Grandfather Learned to Swim), a play for children.
