Diogenes Verlag publishes lovingly constructed children’s books with waywardness, wit and charm. The focus is on picture books and illustrations, along with children’s books by selected authors associated with the press. Recent books have also been aimed at teenagers and young adults. The lively backlist includes classics like those of Beatrix Potter, Jean de Brunhoff’s Babar, and E.B. White’s Wilbur and Charlotte – and of course Where the Wild Things Are and other children’s books by Maurice Sendak. These are complemented by works by contemporary authors and illustrators. Diogenes Verlag holds the world rights to works by Tomi Ungerer, Tatjana Hauptmann, Doris Dörrie, Magdalen Nabb and F.K. Waechter.
